Omar Bin Al-Khattab
الخليفة الثاني: عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه
Omar Bin Al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) was one of the greatest companions of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). He was the second Caliph of Islam and is remembered for his justice, strength, wisdom, and deep fear of Allah.
His leadership changed the course of Islamic history. Under his rule, Islam spread widely, justice was established, and the rights of people were protected.
Who Was Omar Bin Al-Khattab?
Omar Bin Al-Khattab was born in Makkah before Islam. He belonged to the Quraysh tribe and was known for his strength, bravery, and strong personality.
Before accepting Islam, Omar was against it. However, Allah guided his heart, and when he accepted Islam, he became one of its strongest defenders.
His acceptance of Islam gave courage to Muslims, and they began to practice their religion openly.
عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه من كبار الصحابة، وكان معروفًا بالقوة والشجاعة، ثم هداه الله فكان من أعظم أنصار الإسلام.
Omar Bin Al-Khattab and Islam
After embracing Islam, Omar never hid his faith. He prayed openly at the Kaaba and defended Muslims with courage. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) loved him and made duʿāʾ for him.
كان عمر رضي الله عنه يجاهر بإسلامه، وكان النبي ﷺ يحبه ويثني على حكمته.
Omar as the Second Caliph
After the death of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (رضي الله عنه), Omar Bin Al-Khattab became the second Caliph of Islam. He ruled with justice, honesty, and responsibility. Among his great achievements:
- Organizing the state treasury (بيت المال)
- Appointing judges to ensure justice
- Creating rules to protect the poor and weak
- Setting a calendar based on the Hijrah

Omar Bin Al-Khattab was famous for his justice. He treated everyone equally, whether rich or poor, Muslim or non-Muslim. He once said:
"If a mule stumbles in Iraq, I fear that Allah will ask me why I did not make the road easy for it."
